CLINIQUE SONIC SYSTEM CLEANSER REVIEW

11/19/2014

The Sonic System by Clinique has been big news. There has been loads of hype around this product-some stores even have giant sized models! (not working models, sadly) If you are wondering whether this is the cleansing brush for you, then this review will be helpful. At £79 its not a cheap cleansing brush so its important to make an informed decision. This cleansing brush has revolutionised my skincare regime. First things first, I have used this for nearly a month now and my skin has become so much softer with less spots (which is something I admittedly struggle with) also, it has made my dry skin less flaky as it exfoliates.

GOOD VIBRATIONS: The "Sonic" vibrations feature has been really great for my skin and I now understand the importance of skin "movement". My mum used to always say to me "make sure when you're cleansing your face you move your skin because this helps it to regenerate," and she was right, I just didn't have a tool to move my skin so deeply before, until now.
ALL ABOUT THE TIMING: The recommended amount of time is only 30secs per time, and then gradually build up to 60secs. This is because it really does deeply move your skin that you don't need much time. I certainly find this. Luckily the Sonic System automatically turn off after 30 seconds so theres no worry about overdoing it. I have actually been using the cleanser without the Sonic feature in place of my usual face cleansing sponge. The bristles are just so much better at clearing the blackheads on my chin and around my nose. The great thing is, its waterproof so theres no need for me to worry about damaging it with water.
CHARGING UP: The cleanser is a rechargable device so theres no worries about buying new batteries, but after a month I still haven't needed to charge it. The battery life is great.
OVERALL VALUE: Although this was given to me as a birthday gift, I can say it was worth the money. Ny skin has dramatically improved, particularly less dryness and breakouts. Clinique does recommend that the bristle head is changed every 3 months so it has the potential to be costly, but I am hoping it will last a really long time. Also, the bristles aren't even a bit frayed after 1 months use so it will probably be okay to stretch it out before I purchase a new head.

When purchased they give free samples of the Dramatically Different Moisturiser+ and Liquid Facial Soap. They were really great to try too, also making my skin soft, especially the moisturiser although I do feel the moisturiser has started running down quickly..thats probably me using more than usual because autumn weather is so bad for my skin.
All in all, I am happy to give the Clinique Sonic System a positive review :)
Has anyone had a similar experience of this? Or have you considered purchasing?

  3. I don't know if I would spend £79 on a cleansing product but this looks like a really interesting idea! I do love having a daily facial routine and if this was ever in the sale I would definitely consider trying it.

    1. Yes it is pricy for a cleanser! Sometimes in boots they have 20% off luxury brands so keep a lookout :)

  9. I love cleansing brushes and find they always help your cleanser to work better and moisturiser to sink into skin a lot nicer too which in turn makes your skin and makeup look better! :)
