MY FIRST TIME AT WAGAMAMA

1/07/2015

Foodie post coming up,

It was my first time at Wagamama yesterday (yes, I am late to the trend). Here is what I ordered and my opinions on the food and the service.

So, the food. I ordered the Chicken Ramen Noodles which on the menu is described as: noodles in a chicken soup topped with grilled chicken breast, seasonal greens. garnished with menma and spring onions. In reality it was all of that in a broth which wouldn't be clear unless I had my friend with me giving me the lowdown on whats good. The broth made the chicken really succulent. I enjoyed that part because I usually find chicken a bit dry. It felt really healthy and was so filling. Plus, the bowl was GIANT. I loved it, I got a lot for my money. Some may find it a bit bland, there are spicy options available but for me, it was perfect.

My friend ordered Yaki Udon which is described on the menu as teppan-fried udon noodles in curry oil with chicken, prawns, chikuwa, egg, beansprouts, leek, mushrooms and peppers. garnished with fried shallots, pickled ginger and sesame seeds. My friend really loved it. I had a taste and it had a hint of spice but nothing extreme, I think it was the ginger giving it a kick. The flavours were great, plus it is a very healthy dish, so much veg!  But if you like really hot food then another dish on the menu would be for you.

By the time I had attempted to finish my main I was so full. But that didn't stop me because there is an option to order a mini version of any full size cake. So, I ordered the passionfruit cheesecake in mini version. It was really mini, but I just wanted the sweet taste so it was perfect. The cake itself was really creamy and had a pleasingly sour kick to it. At one point it got in my throat a tad but I do have quite a bland palette, I wasn't used to it. The best thing? Wagamama offer Green tea free of charge. So, I had some of that with dessert. It was fairly weak but i'm glad it didn't take away from the passionfruit flavour.
The service was really friendly, which obviously, I love. They were attentive throughout the meal and kept an eye out for if we needed more drinks which is great service. It was a quiet night according to the waiting staff so that was a benefit to us because they were really relaxed and attentive.

I left Wagamama feeling full, healthy, and happy. I almost went for a take-out juice but I was so full. Have you ever had a juice from Wagamama? What do you think of the dining experience?
