WHEN COLOURS COLLIDE

7/26/2015

Hello! Time has flown by recently, when my days are full I look back and think wow I've packed so much into such a short space of time. I am three weeks into my internship and honestly I am really enjoying it and learning so much every day. Entering the world of work wasn't easy, the early mornings and the late nights took a bit to adjust to but now I am really sad that I only have a few weeks left. I have vowed to savour every single moment I am working there, because when its over I will regret not appreciating my time there. No sooner than I'd thought that, I realised that I should make a conscious effort to appreciate things more than I do. So now I'm trying to see the brightness in everything, even if it first it seems dark. This shoot really reflects that. Two backdrops, one lilac and one bright yellow. Almost opposite colours. But somehow they come together in an almost mesmerising way.

In amongst the bold colour clash is my beautiful rose crochet top from Ralph Lauren. The softly feminine fabric both blends in to one backdrop and is brightened by the other. I love wearing this top for work on sunny days. Its a really summery shade and material but can be worn with black, tapered trousers to look business-ready. Today its more casual, worn with faded blue high-waisted jeans from H&M. I rolled them up at the bottom to add to the casual-feel of the outfit.

My shoes are from Primark, bought when I was travelling light and needed some black flats. I thought I was only going to wear them once and then throw them out. But one month later and they are back and really comfy, perfect for a casual daytime shopping trip.

The Moschino sunnies are fixed, and still going strong. (No further breakages as of yet! If you're confused, see my previous post 'Beauty Is Everywhere') I do have many other sunglasses but the lenses in these are dark enough to keep the sun out, but not too dark that I can barely see what I'm doing when the sun fades for a moment. They also match with any silver/white gold accessories of which I am loving at the moment.

I kept my makeup plain and understated as this outfit was bright enough. So, I just have the essential makeup on. Keeping my makeup basis gives this look the natural element it desperately needs.

This outfit  makes for a perfect outfit when requiring a feminine and dressy outfit with the brightness of your personality shining through the block of colour.

As a final thought, it doesn't need to be sunny for the world to be bright and colourful.
What is your go-to colour when wanting a bright outfit? Any other thoughts are welcome in the comments below.
